Book Recommendation: Then I Was Guided

Sallam Alykum,

I have just finished a book titled “Then I Was Guided” by Sayed Mohamed Tijani Smaoui and would like to discuss the book for a little while. First off I would like to say that this book was a wonderful read and I thank Allah (swt) for allowing me to find and finish reading it. It was a very pleasurable reading experience, taking me only three days I believe due to how good it was I was unable to put it down many a times.

The book is about Sayed Mohamed Tijani who was born a Sunni Sufi and how he was able to find the light of Ahlul Bayt (as) and become a Shi’i Muslim, alhamdullah. He discuses his early lifetime in which he traveled to various Islamic countries and told us of his adventures there and how he came to learn a lot about Ahlul Bayt (as) in Iraq. Meeting many top Shi’i scholars and pious Muslims who were able to remove the misconceptions he has heard about the Shia Muslims. The second half of the book is basically the various hadiths and logic reasonings  that Sayed Mohamed Tijani found and used that helped him find the Truth of Ahlul Bayt (as). he provides dozens of hadiths all from Sunni sources in which any logical person would find the truth from if they had no bias views about their own beliefs.

I invite all Muslims, whether Sunni or Shia, to read this book. Many Sunni Muslims have false views on Shias such as Shia Muslims worshiping Imam Ali (as), God Forbid, or that they believe Angel Gabriel made a mistake going to Prophet Muhammad (saw) instead of Imam Ali (as), God Forbid. Such people with beliefs as these have never searched for the truth or know the truth, for if they did ever seek knowledge and truth they would not hold such devilish views on their fellow Muslims.

Read the book online using these source:

May Allah (swt) guide us all and put us on the right path that His Prophet (saw) taught us - for we are nothing but servants constantly looking for the truth.
